Medical English for Healthcare Professionals
Intermediate B1/B2 – Part 1
This one-to-one course is ideal for any healthcare professionals wishing to improve their Medical English with a structured format. Each individual lesson duration is 50 minutes.
Lessons include functional language used in medical establishments in an English speaking country. This course is an appropriate choice for HCP’s planning to move to an English speaking country in the future. It is equally suited to HCP’s wishing to improve their English for medical conferences.
This is part one of Intermediate Medical English for Healthcare Professionals.
The course is aimed at intermediate learners. However, the course is also suitable for students with an upper intermediate level in General English and lacking Medical English vocabulary and phrases.
Language Skills
The course covers all four of the main language skills: Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading. Writing exercises are typically assigned as optional homework.
The lessons in this course cover general health and the human body.
There will be a number of discussions during lessons. These will include visits to the GP and health checks, fast food and nutrition, bone health and organ donation.
Articles are included for Reading practice with a focus on finding and understanding vocabulary. During lessons you will review four different articles covering a variety of subjects and a range of vocabulary.
Audio files include dialogues between patients and healthcare professionals and interviews with medical specialists.
Each lesson will have a particular language focus to work on improving grammar. These mini lessons will include reviewing the first conditional and imperative, paraphrasing and synonyms and compound adjectives.
Lesson Dates and Times
Dates and times for each lesson are booked via a simple booking calendar. This method allows planning around work shifts and rotas. Should you prefer these lessons can be taken as an intensive course over one week.
